Seto city was a host city of Aichi EXPO 2005. More than 22 million people visited the EXPO during that half year. We had a chance to get to know foreigners due to more than 120 official participating countries, and we experienced “Earth Collaboration” which was the theme of the Aichi EXPO.
Approximately 370 people from all over the world took this opportunity to homestay, and experience the Japanese daily life with a family in Seto. Within those 370 guests, there were foreign tourists, students from abroad, and EXPO staff and attendants from participanting countries.
We are now seeking foreign friends who are interested in staying in Seto and interacting with Japanese families.
We would like to continue the idea of “Earth Collaboration” the theme of Aichi EXPO.
瀬戸市には2005年3月に開幕し、約半年間で2200万人以上の来場者で賑わいを見せた「愛・地球博（2005年日本国際博覧会）」の会場がありました。120以上の公式参加国が出展した会場では、多くの外国人と触れ合う機会があり、博覧会のテーマである「地球大交流」を体感することができました。
この絶好の機会を生かして、瀬戸市民の家庭に泊まり、日本の日常生活を体験したい外国人観光客や留学生、博覧会スタッフを募集した結果、世界中から約370人の方がホームステイを体験されました。
私たちは、今後も博覧会のテーマである「地球大交流」の理念を継承するために、市民の家庭に泊まり、日本人と交流したい外国人を募集します。
